With this study, we took a long, hard look at our congregation, St. John’s Lutheran Church and School, to gauge our spiritual health. Two of Thom Rainier’s books, Autopsy of a Deceased Church and Breakout Churches helped guide our discussions. Though not all of the facts we uncovered were pleasant, we were encouraged by God’s promises of love and empowered to work hard at leading our congregation to a healthier place. Trusting in our great God and Savior, we can make the changes necessary to better serve him here in Westland, MI!
